Walk on the water... Faith in the storm

Imagine doing something like that? .. you must be thinking "Are you kidding me??". But, something like that happened, its in the Bible! In Matthew 14:22-33, we see the disciples are in the boat, the wind and someone walking on the water..

Jesus lets the disciples go but, its strange the disciples don't recognize him in the wind and they are afraid. But, the Lord encourages them "Take Courage! and don't be afraid"

Quoting my Pastor's teaching in India, "Jesus can walk into the very thing you fear & rescue you. He will never leave you in the midst of the storm. Remember that He is the Lord of the storm."

Still, Peter doesn't believe, see what he says, “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”  He starts walking when the Lord tells him to "Come". He did good since he looked at Jesus first and walked on the water but this changes when he changes his focus to the "wind". The Lord challenges his faith.

Looking at our lives, as long as our eyes are on the Lord, we continue our faith journey in him no matter how our circumstances are, we are able to put our faith only in him, we take courage to face our situations, to face the storm, to walk on the water. When we trust in Jesus, we can walk on the water even in the storm and reach the shore since we allow the Lord to lead us. 

But, the reverse happens when we move our focus to situations, no results, focusing on the storm, we feel like we are sinking.. 
This is the time to remember all that the Lord has done in our lives all the years... so we can continue to trust the Lord of the storm and the one who can help us walk on the water.

This is a reminder for me too, to trust in the Lord, to focus on him more than the things that do not happen, more than what I expect to see....
