One of my colleague invited me to watch "Nefarious-Merchant of souls", a documentary on this modern day slavery around the world. This is a documentary produced by Exodus Cry- A prayer movement to end slavery. We have many organizations working to expose and abolish this slavery and there is so much that needs to be done and see god's hand at work to end this....
This first documentary draws stories from 4 continents (covering these countries- Moldova, Amsterdam, USA (Las Vegas), Thailand, Cambodia) heavy and painful to watch but it opens one's eyes to the reality and the need to pray, to be aware and to support the movement to end this criminal act.
Stories range from abduction, to poverty, parents selling young girls for an amount, young girls stepping into a den wanting high life, a girl wanting to provide for a family....
One cannot comprehend the environment these girls live in. In Amsterdam they are like display models in a store. What one sees from outside is the bad, cheap woman but listening to them, one would actually listen to the cry of their heart... feeling defeated, cheated, completely broken with no value for their life. They are considered as a "non-living thing" used and thrown.

Would you think that a parent would sell a child for money either because of poverty or because they need some luxury for their home? Well, that is the story in Thailand and Cambodia.
The story is a little different in some places here in the US namely Las Vegas where some girls are caught into believing the high life that they would get and falling into the trap of prostitution.
There are many stories around the world how each one is trapped into this life but there is HOPE!!
Hope for those who are in rehabilitation and hard as the process is, they are introduced to the one person who doesn't condemn one for their sins but loves them no matter how and no matter how... that person is JESUS!!
One of the former trafficking victim describes how the Lord welcomed her... he visited her 6 months and she explains him as Gentle who just showed her love, assured her life....
Another victim describes that for the first time in her life she realized that her life has worth because of JESUS!!
This is true because our Lord Jesus came to "Seek and save that which was lost.."
There is more good news from Sweden where its illegal to by sex and the offenders or men who try doing this are sent to jail!!! woow!! that's amazing and Sweden has the lowest rate of human trafficking in the world.. hope one day the whole world would be like this...
My colleague who invited me to watch this documentary with her group couldn't make it last night since she was in an accident yesterday morning. I did mention about her in one of my blog post couple of months back. God laid on her heart to support fighting this battle. She visited India last year to a care home where the children of the trafficked victims are taken care...
The situation is the same back home where girls are abducted from Andhra Pradesh, Kolkata, Mumbai ... but there is hope there too....
The end is going to be good because our Lord is in control and listening to the cry of these trapped victims but for us who are in a protected environment, I believe it is time we consider this situation and seek the Lord as to what he wants us to do as an individual..
- Pray
- Be aware
- Support
..start with Praying for this situation to be abolished because the Lord created all of us in his image and is the only one who can redeem and free us from our sins and bondage. All the victims can be delivered from this bondage .... the buyers need a dose of Jesus so they can come out of this viscous circle into a life of repentance through Jesus..
Being aware is major because we do not know the reality, the truth and pain of these woman whom we (that includes me) shun away looking at their appearance .
Support is what the organizations need and they are many depending on how the Lord leads each one to support..
The Lord laid it in my heart the beginning of this year to PRAY about this, now leading me to be aware so I can continue to lift up this situation. Its hard to erase those faces from the mind..
Continuing to pray how I can support to fight this battle ...because the end is going to be good because the Lord Jesus reigns and he alone is victorious...
