Is Mitt Romney SURE that his campaign staff is still on his side? Update!

This picture showed up yesterday on the Huffington Post, from a speech that Romney gave at the Rockies Air Museum Rally.

Okay you may be wondering why anybody would place their candidate between two giant letters that spell out "BS" but perhaps this next picture will clear that up.

Ah! See from a little further back it spells "JOBS." Well THAT certainly makes more sense don't you think?

However one has to wonder if it EVER occurred to Romney's staff that any close up pictures would open their candidate up to ridicule?

Here is how one local Denver politician responded to the sight:

"To all of my political friends who worked Advance for a campaign - SOMEONE has to realize that this staging will frame your candidate's message poorly, right???"

Yeah you would certainly think that SOMEONE in the campaign would have noticed, and taken pains to make sure that it did not send even a subliminal message like that, don'tcha think?

Unless........

Update: You know I wrote this post yesterday, before the debates. But after seeing the fact free way in which Romney conducted himself I think it is more appropriate than I could have imagined at the time.

Essentially bullshit is ALL that Romney has on his side in this election. And he  used it liberally last night.

Here was a summary from FactCheck.org:

Romney sometimes came off as a serial exaggerator. He said “up to” 20 million might lose health insurance under the new law, citing a Congressional Budget Office study that actually put the likely number who would lose employer-sponsored coverage at between 3 million and 5 million. He said 23 million Americans are “out of work” when the actual number of jobless is much lower. He claimed half of all college grads this year can’t find work, when, in fact, an AP story said half either were jobless or underemployed. And he again said Obama “cut” $716 billion from Medicare, a figure that actually reflects a 10-year target for slowing Medicare spending, which will continue to grow.

That is only a small portion of the crap sandwich Mitt Romney served the American people last night. But because neither the moderator Jim Lehrer, nor President Obama called him on it, many viewers undoubtedly believed that Romney was in command of "the facts." Of course such was not the case.

Last night I had the strangest feeling of deja vu while watching, and then this morning I realized why, and tweeted this.

Yes it is in fact almost EXACTLY how Palin conducted herself in the 2008 election right down to refusing to follow the rules and making up her own set of facts.  So perhaps in his desperation Mitt Romney finally DID go to the Lunatic from Lake Lucille for advice.
