Well, everybody's got a story to tell
And everybody's got a wound to be healed
I want to believe there's beauty here
So, I guess you're tired of holding on
I can't let go, I can't move on
I want to believe there's meaning here
How many times have you heard me cry out
"God please take this"?
How many times have you given me strength to
Just keep breathing?
Oh I need you
God, I need you now.
Standing on a road I didn't plan
Wondering how I got to where I am
I'm trying to hear that still small voice
I'm trying to hear above the noise
Though I walk, though I walk through the shadows
And I, I am so afraid
Please stay, please stay right beside me
With every single step I take
How many times have you heard me cry out?
And how many times have you given me strength?
I need you now
I need you now

KOLKATA, INDIA – A 16-year-old girl was running down a residential street just outside Kolkata. She looked desperate, but determined. Neighbors stopped her, and asked her why she was running. She told them she was running away. She said was running from the woman who was chasing her, the madam who she said had held her captive for the past two months in her home. The neighbors were shocked when the girl revealed she had been trafficked for sex – to a private home on their own street. The neighbors helped the girl call the police, who in turn called IJM for assistance. The girl shared her story again, explaining how customers would come to the house to rape her, night after night. Yesterday, she noticed the gate outside the home was open. She took off running.IJM social workers stayed with the young girl while she shared her story, then accompanied her to a safe aftercare shelter. IJM will continue to work with the government authorities to ensure she goes to a long-term aftercare home where she can receive counseling and opportunities to build a strong future for herself.

". . . it is as plain to me as anything that the first thing the child of God has to do morning by morning is to obtain food for the inner man. As the outward man is not fit for work for any length of time, except we take food, and as this is one of the first things we do in the morning, so it should be with the inner man. . . .How different when the soul is refreshed and made happy early in the morning, from what it is when, without spiritual preparation, the service, the trials, and the temptations of the day come upon one!"

Loved George Mueller's quote "the first great and primary business to which I ought to attend every day was to have my soul happy in the Lord. The first thing to be concerned about was . . . how I might get my soul into a happy state, and how my inner man might be nourished . . ."". . . it is as plain to me as anything that the first thing the child of God has to do morning by morning is to obtain food for the inner man. Sundays are always amazing .. going to church, worship and more!
Today was yet another one, enjoying his presence throughout. I watched a little baby in church today just resting his her mom's arms and made me visualize what I've been thinking of in the past few weeks.... resting in the Lord.. not worrying about anything but being assured and trusting that he is in control :)
There was something even more exciting that I witnessed today, another life joining the family of Jesus!!! yaaay!! Jovin picked up a Korean gal, a new grad who moved to Houston in search of a job 2 weeks back.
She stayed with one of our church family and today right after service, I hear the good news that the Korean gal accepted Christ as her savior!! My Sunday just got even more exciting!!
After the service, couple of us prayed over her welcoming her into Jesus' family! I was so excited I was there to witness something great. That's a celebration for Jesus, another soul for this glory!
Praise God!!!

...and The Olympics is over!

The Olympics came to an end :( ... I enjoyed watching them every evening the past 2 weeks.. each athlete giving their best to win the prize.. doesn't this ring a bell, something that relates to our day to day life?
Each athlete has a story to share of their struggle, fight to reach the Olympics, each one has a story to share of how they reached the podium.
I was reading about few of the US athletes, their story of reaching the Olympics and how Christ plays an important role in their life and their victory at the Olympics.
It was a treat watching Allyson Felix in the track and field, even better reading about her relationship with the lord. She shares what role Jesus plays in her life ..
"My faith inspires me so much. It is the very reason that I run. I feel that my running is completely a gift from God and it is my responsibility to use it to glorify him. My faith also helps me not be consumed with winning, but to see the big picture and what life is really all about."
"I have a lot of different verses that inspire my life. Philippians 1:21 is very special to me because it helps to keep my life centered. In every situation in my life I want to be able to say, "For me to live is Christ ... and nothing else, and to die is gain." It really keeps life in perspective for me and encourages me to make sure my priorities are straight."
You can read her interview here : http://christianity.about.com/od/christiancelebrities/qt/allysonfelix.htm
Another lady on track Sanya Richards Ross who won 2 gold medals this year, her journey from a non-believer to a believer in Christ.
"There are so many meaningful verses to me in the Bible, but I guess the one I say to myself most often is, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!" That's my favorite because on the track, I am usually trying to do things that have rarely been done before. I know that it's only God that gives me the strength to accomplish these things."
"My faith keeps me grounded. People always ask me how come I'm so good, and even though I try never to overwhelm people with my faith, I always think to myself, how come God is so good. My faith also encourages me to give my best. I know that my talent is God's gift to me, and how I use it is my gift to him."

The cutest gal with a big smile on her face in Gymnastics, Gabby Douglas!! I sat nervously watching the gymnastics and she comes all poised and takes the gold in the all-around event. She praises the Lord for her victory! “I give all the glory to God. It’s kind of a win-win situation. The glory goes up to him and the blessings fall down on me,” she said after her historic win.

Praise God for these athletes honoring the Lord in where he's placed them and fighting the race with amazing victories!! ... a lesson for each of us to glorify the lord in our victories and blessings from him and to stand for him where he's placed us and not be ashamed to share our faith :)
